Ashlee Simpson's SNL Mishap, Britney Halts Career

Teen pop star ASHLEE SIMPSON, younger sister of JESSICA SIMPSON, made a memorable performance on NBC's "Saturday Night Live," but it's one she probably would like to forget.

Simpson planned to perform two songs -- her performance of her hit single 'Pieces of Me' went smoothly, but when it came time to sing 'Autobiography', an audio glitch happened. The audience heard Simpson's lip-synched voice singing 'Pieces of Me' again, but her lips weren't moving.

The band continued on while Simpson looked dumbfounded and confused. The song was then silenced and Simpson walked off the stage, just 35 seconds into the performance. At the end of show, guest host JUDE LAW, standing next to Simpson, said, "What can I say? Live TV."

EMINEM'S 'FATHER' COMMITS SUICIDE

Britian's Daily Mirror reports that rapper EMINEM aka MARSHALL MATHERS is devastated after Todd Nelson, the uncle who he regarded as his dad, committed suicide.

The rap star's real father deserted him when he was a baby so he was raised by TODD NELSON, who shot himself in the head, allegedly because he was being terrorized by a sheriff's rottweiler.

Nelson is Eminem's second close relative to kill himself -- his other uncle, RONNIE MATHERS, killed himself last year following a traumatic break-up.

A family friend explains, "This news has hit him hard. It will bring back all the memories of losing Ronnie. To lose two uncles at such a young age is terribly sad, especially as his father has never been around. The fact they both committed suicide is so tragic." Eminem's grandmother tells Britain's tabloid newspaper, "Todd had been upset about a rottweiler owned by a local sheriff who was causing problems for his family. The dog scared his girlfriend's son and scratched their car."

" But when he complained to police, they wouldn't do anything about it. He shot himself in his car in his own backyard. My grandson, Todd Jr., found his body."

Business mogul DONALD TRUMP says, "You're fired!" Porn star RON JEREMY says, "You're fucked!"

The result is the same, however, as the Porn Legend will be hosting an Adult show based on Trump's smash hit reality show, The Apprentice, called Adult Apprentice.

Adult Apprentice will have 10 sexy Adult starlets compete against each other, performing various tasks to demonstrate their sexual prowess and bedroom skills. Jeremy will assign tasks and judge the contestants in such categories as oral proficiency, hottest ejaculation, and dirty talk.

" I play the 'Donald Trump' character. I even comb my hair kind of like he does," Jeremy told AVNOnline.com. "And we have some beautiful girls competing to be the Adult Apprentice, doing various scenes "" girl/girl, guy/girl, working with their boyfriends, working with me, a whole variety of stuff."

One of those girls is VICKY VETTE, who spoke to AVNOnline.com shortly after she finished shooting a girl/girl romp with fellow starlet VERONIKA RAQUEL.

" A lot of the performances are really over the top because all of the girls are competing against each other," an exhausted Vette said.

Joining Raquel and Vette as hopeful contestants are SUNSHINE, CHELSEA LOVE, DAISY, FELECIA FLINT, TRIXXI, JACQUELINE, LADY and BRIANNA. The women are competing for a lump of cash and a six-picture deal with Azure Entertainment, which is producing the show for webmaster affiliate site Platinum Bucks.

The contestants get the added bonus of learning how to be a porn star from the legendary Ron Jeremy, Vette said.

The show will run exclusively at the Platinum Bucks' site, AdultApprentice.com, beginning at the end of November and running for 16 episodes. A new episode will air every week, with DVDs to follow.

GWEN'S DEVASTED BY HUSBAND'S LOVECHILD

British tabloids are reporting that singer GWEN STEFANI's rocker husband GAVIN ROSSDALE has a "secret lovechild". The Daily Mirror reports that the Bush lead singer recently learned that he is the father of a fifteen-year-old girl.

British newspaper the Daily Mirror reports that a DNA test has proved that the Bush frontman, 38, is the father of his goddaughter teen model DAISY LOWE after a brief tryst with her fashion designer mother PEARL, 33.

Meanwhile, some are speculating that the No Doubt singer Stefani is devasted by the news because she has as yet been unable to have children with Rossdale for eight years now. The source continued, "It sounds like Gwen is really upset about it and it's causing fights between her and Gavin."

BRITNEY STOPS CAREER TO START A FAMILY

Pop princess BRITNEY SPEARS is putting her music career on hold to have baby with new husband KEVIN FEDERLINE.

Spears made the admission in a "letter of truth" published on her official Web site, warning fans that her body is changing and that they won't be seeing much of her for a while.

" There's so much change going on in the world right now... not only with me, but with the world as well. "

" I am going to take some time off to enjoy life."

Spears also used the letter to poke fun at her pop diva rivals.

" My prerogative right now is just to chill and let all of the other overexposed blondes on the cover of US Weekly be your entertainment... good luck girls!"

Spears' record label Jive are far from pleased with her recent decision -- having just poured millions into promoting her Greatest Hits album. Greatest Hits? She's only 22.

ANTHONY'S EX WARNS J.LO

SLY STALLONE TO LAUNCH MAGAZINE

" Rocky" star SYLVESTER STALLONE is launching a monthly men's fitness magazine. The magazine is designed to encourage older men to follow his healthy lifestyle.

The muscular 58-year-old will launch the monthly publication 'Sly', in January 2005 with publishers American Media, Inc. (AMI) and hopes that by featuring his face on the cover of each issue (just like Oprah's 'O' Magazine), with a target audience of men in the 35 to 54-year-old range.

An AMI spokesperson says, "We know that Sylvester will be actively involved in the editorial process every month.

" The idea is to provide a good product to a large number of male readers who are really not serviced by other magazines at the moment."

PAM BANS TOMMY'S PORNSTAR GIRLFRIEND

Hilton plans to name them after LONDON and CHINA. "When I was younger I hated my name, but I think it's cool because it's different. I've never met another Paris, so I want to name my kids after places, too. They may be laughed at like I was, but it'll only make them stronger."

In other Paris news, the blonde beauty is expanding her empire by going into the nightclub business. Hilton reportedly signed a seven-figure deal this weekend for her participation in a franchise of clubs to be called "Club Paris". The first will open on New Year's Eve in Orlando, Florida. Other "Club Paris" locations are planned for Las Vegas, New York, London, and, yes, even Paris.
