Actor Ryan O’Neal and his son Redmond have been booked by Los Angeles police on suspicion of narcotics possession.
According to the city’s sheriff’s department, police were doing a probation search involving Redmond O’Neal at his father’s Malibu home shortly after 7am on Wednesday when deputies discovered the illegal substances.
Redmond, 24, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, while a vial of the drug was found in Ryan O’Neal’s bedroom, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed.
The pair has been plagued by legal woes in recent years.
Redmond - whose mother is actress Farrah Fawcett - was placed on probation stemming from an arrest on suspicion of methamphetamine and cocaine possession in 2005.
He later pleaded not guilty to drug possession and one misdemeanor driving under the influence (DUI) charge following an arrest last year on charges related to carrying heroin and crystal meth while driving in Malibu.
Ryan O’Neal, 67, was also arrested last year on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm after firing a gunshot during an argument with another son.
They are currently being held on $10,000 bail.
